Mitch Smith Senior Pastor

Mitch Smith serves as the senior pastor at Sharon Baptist Church in Chinquapin, North Carolina. He is dedicated to his calling of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and has a deep love for the local church and its potential when it embraces its biblical purpose of reaching the lost and equipping the saved to disciple others. His passion for the lost and commitment to the gospel is evident in his preaching, and Mitch firmly believes that the life-changing message of Jesus Christ is something to be excited about.  Mitch completed his undergraduate studies in Religion, with a minor in Christian Counseling, at Liberty University. He also earned his Master of Arts in Theology and Master of Divinity at the Liberty University School of Divinity. In 2019, Mitch strongly felt that the Lord was leading him to continue his education at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he is currently in the final writing stage of the Doctoral program in Church Revitalization. Mitch was born and raised in eastern North Carolina, where he worked in his family business until he was called into full-time ministry in 2009. Mitch and his wife, Kimberly, have been married for 27 years and are dedicated to serving the Lord together in ministry.
